Adapter is attached to motherboard with the included ASUS Assist Fan screws. Notice that you'll need to plug in the fan first and leave it dangling before you screw in the adapter, otherwise it's impossible to get the fan plugged in. There is plenty of clearance even with my gfx card installed in the first PCIex16 slot. A wireless card is also installed in that first PCIex1 slot.
